From time to time, Isitfair meets with the main political parties to discuss the reform of the present Council Tax system. At these meetings, we present an alternative way of raising local tax whilst retaining local democracy. Progress is slow though as we have recently seen with the Balance of Funding Review, followed by the Lyons Inquiry. Nothing positive seems to have come of these, except the threat of higher and more taxes for the foreseeable future. However, we will persevere to press home our message of reform, and lower local taxation.
